Silven haired, fierce-eyed women, brilliantly alive to the gem being forged in the heart-womb. Unafraid of the dying or facing the deep hurts, the darkest truths. Ready to midwife culture. Embodying soulful wisdom, each in her unique way. Guardians bearing the energy and ancient archetypes of elder women - those energies known in some cultures as cailleach, baba yaga. In others as creatrix, grandmother spider and more . . .

20 years after a cataclysmic life storm I’ve been growing my roots back down into the earth, and back out into this wild cosmos. I've been gifted to apprentice and train with many guides, teachers, leaders in the realm of the embodied and mythopoetic realm of nature-based human development and soul initiation, primarily Joanna Macy, Bill Plotkin, Annie Bloom, Sharon Blackie and Cynthia Winton Henry/Phil Porter and Intuition Medicine.
In the midst of my own several years deep journey with uterine fibroids and perimenopause in the midst soul-centered initiatory journey in my work with Animas Valley Institute, I received some extraordinary images that have guided me.
In the autumn of 2023, I realized in conversation with another women leader, that these images and guidance were not just showing up for ME, but were potentially archetypal patterns and experiences. Others might be guided by body, by soul through this extraordinary threshold time in similar ways.
This threshold time of living into our 2nd Fire, is the birthright gift (though a challenging one) to all women, or those beings who have been living with womb experience. And our stepping in fully to the fires of this threshold time are essential to the ongoing evolution of our collective cultures.
I joined Sharon Blackie's Hagitude community, started a local book group, created a program with a dear co-guide, and imagined what could be possible if this rite of passage were to be deeply honored, if body was guide to soul, if all that is aflame in this time could be in service of the kind of wisdom born of fierce love, a compassion forged by the fires of life, that serves our world.
No wonder this rite of passage has been hushed, downplayed, submerged into the world of western medicalization, illness.
You who were born of mothers, who perhaps longed for ceremony and story...
You who tend and love the next generations, in so many forms...
You who choose to grow humble and powerful in wonder as guides into the fierce wisdom of elders.
I serve the sacred soul waters that flow through each of us and the fertile abyss, crucible of soul, that we are called to by mystery, to remember our particular shape and belonging to the world.
